  1. Aye it's great if ya wanna be teking like William Wallace..otherwise have a normal balanced diet saving your oats for breakfast 3 or 4 times a week.

  2. This is in no way a good thing. Most people misuse the word diet. A proper diet is all you need,  not substituting everything with porridge or even salad for that matter. It's how much you eat and of what you eat that you need to be concerned about. Try graines for breakfast with some fruit... the sugar from fruits and carbs from grains will give you energy to support a morning exercise. For lunch try a salad ( no iceburg lettuce it has no nutritional value the darker the lettuce the more nutrients they have) topped with some form of protein (i.e. nuts or lean mean if you eat meat). For dinner your meat portion should be the size of the palm of your hand, half a cup of starch and 2/3 cup veggies. In between healthy snack options are maybe a granola bar or trailmix.

Portion control is the only safe diet. And also the only diet recommended for a lifetime.

  3. depends on the ingredients...

but i don think u will have enough balance diet...

  4. since there's many different types of porridge and many different things you can put in it.. then I suppose a entirely porridge based diet is ok. But you will have to put vegetables, protein source, and other stuff for vitamins inside. As long as you feel fine and have enough energy then I see no problem. Take some multivitamins just in case and drink plenty of water.

  5. Well, it's not that bad but it's not that fantastic either. Our body needs a balance diet. Also, you will tire of it soon. You may eat porridge for your dinner so that it is easily digestible. As for breakfast, have some oats (like what the first answerer said) or have some cereals. Or you may try bread / sandwiches.

  6. It might be okay for a short term diet, Goldilocks-say a day or two like a kind of porridge fast. Any longer than that, and your body would need a higher amount of protein and other nutrients for continued healthy exercise.

  7. Not a good idea. You body needs a balanced diet of carbohydrates, protein & fat. You won't get that from just eating porridge.

Porridge however is a great start to the day. It is high in carbohydrates and will give you energy. Porridge is probably the best food you can eat for helping fight against high cholestrol. One thing to bear in mind, too much salt in porridge isn't good for your blood pressure. I eat porridge with salt and no sugar.

Porridge is best cooked the traditional way, overnight and very slow.
