Living on the border??

Question

i want to go to school in Abbotsford,BC Canada, but i need a part time job while in school and since i'm an American citizen, i will not be allowed a job in Canada. so i was thinking i could live somewhere in the Sumas, Washington area and work there

but will it be a huge hassle to cross the border 2 times everyday?
