  1. Well, yes actually. And they're not celebrities, are they? And all those hangers-on who use their Royal connections should be shown the door.

Personally, as soon as a royal story comes on the news i turn it over.

  2. The British Royal Family is accountable to its subjects in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth; however, its individual members don't need to live their lives under continual public scrutiny. The Press, for example, for the most part, stopped covering Princes William and Harry after Princess Diana's death until they reached age 21.

That said, part of the Royals' unofficial function is to take some of the lime light off the Prime Minister, whoever he or she is, so the PM's family life remains private.  Moreover, part of the scheme to modernize the monarchy after World War II was to make the Royal Family more accessible to the public.  When the Queen's children grew to adulthood, this public relations ploy backfired particularly when a "fairy tale" marriage didn't end up so happily ever after.  Scandals and photogenic blondes sell newspapers.

  3. I would not want to be them or do their job, for all the money in the world. They are virtual prisoners, accompanied everywhere they go, never able to be alone. Afraid to put a foot wrong. It is hardly a job that anyone would actually choose to do!

  4. They have never known any different Used to it I expect ,Like anybody in the Public Eye it comes with the Job ,Even Queen Victoria had the Victorians answer to the Papparatzi parked out on the banks of the River near Balmoral Castle  trying to catch a glimpse of her, It has got more ridiculous  and dangerous now ,But I expect they have ways of enjoying themselves away from the public eye,

  5. Yes.  I  would certainly hate to have to live that way.

  6. no. if we pay for them to live such privileged lives then we have a right to know how our money is spent

  7. I think it must be a terrible role to bear and i know i couldnt. I have alot of respect for them putting up with it. Not only do they never just get to chill and say ANYTHING on their mind they would wish but they also grow up in a family surrounded by mysterious deaths, conspiracy theories etc etc etc, im not saying any of these are right but imagine it being your family. I bet the enviroments just peachy at family gatherings :)
