Question:

Living with Uveitis?

I'm pretty sure I'm stuck with chronic Uveitis as I have multiple cases of it a year. Does anyone know if it is a risk to wear make up (eyeshadow/eyeliner, no more mascara for me) and is it a risk to wear contacts? I want to prolong my flares of Uveitis as much as I can, but I hate glasses and my love of makeup is a hard thing to part with and I don't want to give them up if there is no basis to, but I would gladly if it meant I didn't have to go through this pain as often!!!

  1. "Does anyone know if it is a risk to wear make up (eyeshadow/eyeliner, no more mascara for me)"

probably not much of a risk.  both of those are external eye products, and uveitis is generally an internal problem.

"and is it a risk to wear contacts?"

again, probably not.  not IMO anyway.  there may be varying opinions on this

"Oh! I forgot to ask, does computer usage strain the eye and also help bring on a flare of Uveitis?"

    definitely not.

"I've heard rumors among doctor's that anti-glare glasses are the way to go for long term computer use for Uveitis sufferers"

only b/c anti-glare might lessen the symptoms by reducing glare, not b/c glare is a causative factor
