Question:

Living/working in Vietnam?

I visited Vietnam over New Years and loved it. Spent five days in Saigon and a couple of nights in Nga Trang. The women, weather, and food are all gorgeous. It's the kind of place I'd love to live. Anyone know the best way to get a job as an English teacher in Vietnam and which organizations/schools may be hiring? Some expats there told me that the work permit is very diffcult to get. Thanks.

  1. It' so great when u love and want to live and work in VN ( SaiGon)

I think It's not so difficult if U want to be a English Teacher here, because, Vietnamese like to learn English ( from young to older - 6 years old kids to the mature ), they want to have a chance to connect to the World , and English is so important for this.

That's why more and more, there are so many English Schools ,Centers were built in SaiGon, and i think you can find a

job as teacher here , provided that they will teach by your heart and communicate your skills to the pupils, students

Some School u can refer :

      * DÆ°Æ¡ng Minh School ( on Phan Dang Luu Street and some    branchs )

      * Ila Center ( On Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street )

      * Space School ( on Dien Bien Phu street)

      * North of America ( on Ho Van Hue Street )

      * Á-Âu ( on Le Văn Sỹ Street )

      * IWEP ( on Ba Thang Hai Street)

      * ELS ( on Phan Dinh Phung street )

      * London ( on Nguyen Thi mInh Khai street )

and so many schools that i can't remember

I hope u can find a job soon.

Cus i am a VN who learing english

  2. my fanily is now based in hanoi, vietnam. it's not easy/difficult to get a job. it all depends on your luck as well as your qualifications. there's a UNIS school in Hanoi. You may want to try to write in to them to see if there are any positions available. www.unishanoi.org

some of them bascially come here and stay on till they they find something to do..cost of living is pretty low here.

  3. www.eslcafe.com is a great site.

  4. I visited Vietnam yearly and don't want to go there anymore, I see how the government threats to people and hate it.  Too much dirty government employee.  I have to bribe my way through to system, if not they will hold me until I do.  I tried not bribe to local government and ended up spending most of my time in government building filling out paper work.  yeah 5 buck here and there is nothing, but it should not have to been done to enjoyed my vacation.  When i visited last year I didn't tell anyone but relatives, because work to spread out, then they will look for you.
