Does anyone get those small little lizards like: Geckos, green aloles (chameleons) in their house? If so what do you do to get them out without hurting them? I have one in my house right now and he is just chillen on top of my cabinet staring at me for the past 30 minutes. I want to get him but I know he will get away and they are FAST little buggers! Any ideas?

  1. let him do his thing. my house is made of brick and concrete, so they use it to cool off and heat up through out the day. i think it adds character to houses with populations of lizards all about it.

  2. Unfortunately, I have cats, so I tend to find them as lizard jerky stashed under the pantry door, weeks later =/

My ex-husband would catch them with his hands; anything else was too slow to beat the cats. I'm a bit too squeamish for that (it shouldn't hurt you, I just can't stand picking up wild little squirming lizardy things, though they're neat to watch).  Just don't try for the tail: the anoles around Houston, at least, do drop their tails in hopes of distracting a predator that's after them.

  3. this might hurt him or might not

tie a slip knot in a fishing line connected to a fishing pole then put the loop around his neck and then bring it down and get him out of it as fast as possible and let him free outside

  4. We get them all the time here in San Diego.  I throw a towel over them if it's in a accessible area, then gently pick them up and release them out side.  I also have three cats who are pretty good at shoo-ing them away.  Usually, the herps will venture back outside to find a basking spot.  They're harmless enough....most of the time I just let them be.  Then again, I keep beardies and mastyx so they don't bother me.

  5. I have found that they are pretty good at finding their way back out. I have had the geckos in my house and I don't mind them. I know they are helping me out by eating insects which have gotten into my home. And the lizards are harmless, so they don't bother me by being there.
