Question:

Lizards? need help!!!?

so i just got 4 lizards a few days ago

one of them can change colors

i put a light on so it isn't cold but

the one that can change colors stop breathing

and i don't really know what to do

is it just sleeping so it can get warmer or is it dieing

i don't really think that it's hot enough for them

  1. It depends on what type of lizard it is but most likely its dieing sorry


  2. Most lizards like it to be 66-75 at night and 75-90 moist get a thermometer that sticks on the tank at the pet store

  3. This is impossible to answer without knowing what kind of lizards you have.  But if you have the heat light sitting actually ON the cage, you could have cooked/injured the one not breathing.

    YOU need to get on line and google lizards, until you find out what you have, and quickly figure out what care and heat they need before you kill them all.

    Short of that... call the person you got them from and ask about what they are, and what care they need.  They can get sick/die very quickly, if their needs aren't met, as you just found out.

    If the one changing color is a chameleon, his needs are tough to meet and they are not a good first time lizard.  They are also not hardy.

    It's never a good idea to mix species.  They tend to have different moisture and heat requirements from species to species.
