Lizette Salas firm to continue her stunning form
With all the passion and craze from the fans in Malaysia, the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2012 is going to kick off from October 11-14, at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.
The roster will feature some of the best players in the world, but there are a few names that have already stirred fans' interest in the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tournament.
American Lizette Salas may not possess as stunning a profile as the current world number one Yani Tseng does, but she knows how to face rivals and that is why she has decided to take her game
more seriously than ever before.
The Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia 2012 will not be a piece of cake for any contender in the line-up, but limelight will remain on players like Salas.
Salas took part in the Navistar LPGA Classic 2012 with plenty of enthusiasm and did better than her fans and critics had anticipated.
The American star shot an overall 278 to finish tied for the 16th position on the leaderboard, but she said while speaking to the LPGA Tour during the tournament that she could
have done much better.
Salas got off to a flying start as she carded a 65, cementing her position right from the start. She kept the momentum going in the second round as well as she registered a 69, stepping up
her effort to rise to the top.
Although she could not finish inside the top 10, her performance earned her a good reputation in a line-up already awash with top-ranked players.
Sharing her thoughts in her interview, Salas said that the key to her solid performance was patience as she did not let her nerves derail her and kept scoring low till the last round.
“You Know I think staying in play was key for me. I putted well at Kingsmill and i missed fairways, which is typically not my game, and that was a whole goal this week is to stay in the fairway
and just stay out of trouble and hit fairways and greens all day,” she said.
“It's a satisfying to know that I'm going to be out here next year because you just don't know what's going to happen out here and you've just got to take each day to the fullest”.
