Well that's just a child nursery rhyme, Lizzie Borden actually only hit her Step- Mother 19 times with an axe or hatchet and her father 11 times, which was still overkill..but nowhere near 40 and 41 times...

I think it's a children's rhyme.  Not much else.  It was the gossip media of the day.  Poor Lizzie was convicted in the media.

I don't think she did it...I watched a story on it once...even the lady that gives tours of the house. Thought she was innocent.

I've heard it. Lizzie was found innocent in a court of law, and got to inherit the family fortune.

If I remember her defense correctly it was that she was a women, and women are far too sensitive and delicate to hack up people with an axe.
