Former Arsenal midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Freddie-Ljungberg-c14143 has urged the Gunners to go on and spend big, in order to keep a hold of their captain, Robin Van Persie, or they could risk watching him leave the team.
Van Persie has often stated that he isn’t sure of just what the team wants to do and whether the team has any ambition or not. Ljungberg feels that the striker’s mind could be changed by bringing in a couple of new faces, who would prove that the team is
looking to build and win trophies in the future.
He also feels that the team is in line to start competing for trophies again, but insisted that having http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 at the club would make it a lot easier to do so and would also give the team the opportunity to improve on how they performed last season.
"I think there's nothing to advise Robin, I think it's more that you have to advise Arsenal“
“When Robin came to Arsenal we were a good team and we were winning trophies.”

"I think that's what he wants to do, and I think that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 maybe have to open their wallet a little bit and buy maybe two or three top, top players… not just players for the squad.”

"I think that will win Robin over on whether he will stay or not, and as a fan I hope that's what he is going to do because I want to see Arsenal lift trophies again."
However, the former Gunner feels that building the Emirates Stadium is one of the reasons as to why the team hasn’t been able to spend big, since they were forced to balance out their finances and prevent themselves from going into a loss.
Nonetheless, the North London club needs to start spending big in the near future and look to add more quality and depth to their team. Once that does happen, then the Gunners would be back on course to winning more silverware, while putting an end to their
barren trophy run, which has now gone into its seventh year.
