Llb degree then an llm for me to practise in california??????? 10 points?

im english and have come to the conclusion that i want to do an llb law degree at an english uni, but have been lookin if the unis offer a postgraduate degree of llm, for me to do after doing a 3 year llb law degree. I was wondering if the llm degree needed for me to practse in cali needed to be taken in america or california or am i able to take the llm degree at the university in england that i took my llb at

i am aware that to practise in california i have to pass the bar exam which i need to take after doin an llm

would any one be able to tell me do i have to take a certain type of law llm - eg law internation llm ................. or does it have to be taken in america could i take it in england ???????? plz help me thanx in advance x*x

  1. You cannot practice law in the U.S. with just the LLB degree. Some states will let you practice law if you have the LLM and pass the bar examination, but I think California requires that you complete a year at an American law school in addition to the LLM. I don't know how long it takes to get the LLM degree in England, but the shortest path might be to simply get a JD in U.S. after obtaining your LLB.
