Llewellyn set to record a hat-trick of victories
Llewellyn is tipped to succeed in the Yorkshire-outdoors.co.uk Selling Stakes at Catterick in England on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. A class-6 victory will earn the triumphant horse a cash prize of £1,704 in the end.
The going will be soft in the 5 furlong 212 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 14:40 GMT, and a total of 12 runners will be battling out for victory. Some of the participants may not enjoy the track conditions, which will out their participation in
doubt.
However, there is no confirmation of the final number of entries, as all the trainers will assess the conditions before the start of action. Looking at the record of all horses, the best chances of victory appear to be with Llewellyn, who is in extremely
good form.
The four-year-old gelding likes the soft ground and he will be hoping of no change in the conditions. The bettors will definitely have faith in his abilities and the bookmakers also believe he is a solid contender for the top position.
The Bill Turner’s trainee started off his career in April 2011 with a race at Kempton. He was priced 14 to 1 back then, but the track conditions did not suit him at all and he had to settle for a disappointing eighth place in the end.
Things did not go well for the young runner in his second race as well, as he finished eighth once again, despite getting a better starting price that time around. He turned the tables in his next outing though, finishing third in his next outing. This was
a very good performance, but the soft ground was one of the main reasons why he managed to be competitive.
Just one more event later, Llewellyn secured the runner up position for the first time in his career, proving to everyone that he was quite capable of challenging for victories.
However, Shamardal’s son out of Ffestiniog had to wait for quite some time before earning his maiden victory in the sport. Importantly, he was able to win his previous two races, which shows that he is carrying excellent momentum right now. He certainly
has a great chance of scoring a hat-trick. His partner at Catterick will be Ryan While.
