Lleyton Hewitt practises with Roger Federer for London Olympics- Tennis News
Former world number one, Lleyton Hewitt of Australia, was reported to have practised with the reigning top ranked Swiss, Roger Federer, in the scorching London sunlight for the Olympic Games preparations. Both the players
trained together for about 90 minutes on Wednesday afternoon to get their bodies warmed up for the upcoming mega event.
The 31-year-old sports star alleged to take the Olympics trophy home. The Australian veteran has competed with world number one several times in the past; however, Federer takes the lead by 18:8 in the all-time head-to-head
series.
Hewitt is coached by Todd Woodbridge, who being a former Olympian has excellent analytical abilities, informed the media outside his courtyard:“The way he hit the ball today, if he can come out like that and play against
any top player ... he's going to worry them and they're not going to want to play him,".
Woodbridge, elaborating on his current performance for the Olympics stating: "He comes in to a tournament like this at Wimbledon with a real comfort zone of loving the place, I think he probably feels it's his best surface
now. You put that all in with some good form and a bit of confidence. He's the best I've seen him for a long time and he'll tell you it's pain free, and it's been years since he's been pain free,"
Hewitt, however, is now in a better form to compete for the great Games about to start from Saturday, 28th of July 2012. He has an advantage over the other players with tons of experience in his bag as the world
champion, Federer, does.
Though every game is an open gamble, the Australian is ready to pick momentum if luck is ready to render a fair chance to him this season. The former champion believes that the London Olympic is a perfect stage for him to
rise again as the quick grass surface is ideal for him.
Despite of the odds Hewitt is the perfect candidate to not only take the gold medal home but also improve his ranking for a classic end to his current year’s career. However, it is easier said than done.
