Former world number one, Lleyton Hewitt, has confirmed his participation in the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championships that will be contested From July 9 to 15, 2012. The venue that is chosen for the tournament is one of
the most historic tennis arenas, the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island. The tennis court’s surface is going to be grass.
Hewitt might have stumbled down in the rankings over the course of years but his feisty style of play hasn’t depleted at all. He is probably a grown man with less enthusiasm and stamina to win at all tennis platforms but he has
achieved everything during his career, a tennis player can dream off. The two Grand Slam champion is very delighted to be a part of such an esteemed event in the history of tennis.
Tournament Director, Mark L. Stenning, was ecstatic to have such a big name signing the contract for playing the tournament. Talking to the media representatives, he stated, “With his tenacity on court and aggressive playing style,
Lleyton always brings a great energy to a tournament. We look forward to welcoming him back to Newport for what is sure to be a great week.”
Hewitt has played in this tournament but it was way back in 1998. He made it to the second round of the event but this time he will definitely look to cruise away into the advanced stages of the tournament.
He joins in the strong field of players that includes the likes of the defending champion, John Isner, and the most improved youngster over the course of a year, Milos Raonic of Canada. Mike and Bob Bryan will also make their way
into the doubles category of the tournament that will definitely make it one of the most viewed tournaments in July.
Other big names that have featured in the previous editions of the tournamentare Ivo Karlovic, Ryan Harrison, Tommy Haas, Ryan Sweeting, Igor Kunitsyn, Grigor Dimitrov, Alex Bogomolov and Ryan Harrison. It shows that this tournament

Hewitt owns the record of becoming the youngest player to end the season as world number one in South African Airways ATP Rankings, in 2001. He defeated Pete Sampras to win the US Open at the age of 20. He has always been a very
