New Apia Sydney International tournament ambassador, former World No.1, Lleyton Hewitt, has confirmed the appearance of tennis’s great stars in the Sydney tournament as he shows off his star power and work along his old friend and Home and Away star, Kate
Ritchie, to bring world class talented players to Sydney.
30-year-old Australian tennis ace is extremely passionate about his work and is living up to his promise to bring famous names to Sydney to delight the local crowd and bring them one of the best matches of all time.
Lleyton Hewitt said “It's not easy. I've been travelling, I've only just got back into the country and to try and put it together from overseas hasn't been easy. I've been travelling, I've only just got back into the country and to try and put it together

partnership with me and the Sydney International, not just on the court, but hopefully once I've retired as well”.
Australian superstar is working extremely hard to attract several big names to Sydney International tournament but his partnership with his friend, Kate Ritchie, is making his life easy. He is enjoying working alongside her.
He needs to flourish tennis in Australia from scratch because it has been diminishing in last 5-10 years. There have not been many names that can be attached to this sport from Australia because sadly there is not world class talent that can be aced at bigger
platforms.
Hewitt has been travelling across the world to gather star players and alongside this hectic task; he has been connected to several tennis academies in Australia to give tips to upcoming stars. He is confident that in the next few years Australia will be
able to produce world class players and it is his prime responsibility to bring this game back on the map.
Apia Sydney International tournament will start from January 8, 2012. There are several big guns that have already signed up for this tournament that includes the likes of Li Na, Ana Ivanovic, Samantha Stosur and Marcos Baghdatis. Few more big names will
also join this list in the next two weeks according to the tournament director, Craig Watson.
