The Spanish international has insisted that he is not looking for a move away from the Basque outfit.
Athletic Bilbao’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Llorente-c13671 has expressed that he is not considering a possible transfer to a different club. The forward maintained that he is not in search for greener pastures and that he is content with his current club.
The striker experienced a rather tumultuous campaign in the most recent season, as Los Leones underwent great highs and lows.
Marco Bielsa’s men managed to reach the finals of two prestigious tournaments after impressing football audiences all over the world. The Basque outfit booked a place in the Copa del Rey final along with qualifying for the Europa League.
Although the San Mames outfit was unable to secure silverware in any of the finals, they have certainly shown signs of improvement under their new coach.
Los Leones had to take up the challenge of fellow Spanish La Liga outfit, Atletico Madrid, in the final of the Europa League. To the dismay of the San Mames faithful, Bilbao suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Madrid.
It was the same story in the Copa del Rey final, as Bielsa’s army succumbed to Spanish heavyweights, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
However, considering the young side and their position in the league, reaching the showdown of the two competitions was still a great achievement.
Llorente is amongst the players who were most influential in helping Bilbao climb to this stage. His contribution to his side has led other teams to take notice and show interest in his services.
However, the player has completely denied the notion of parting ways with his current team.
While talking to reporters, the attacker was quoted as saying:
"It's always nice to have teams interested in you, as it means that you have had a good season. But I am happy because I am already at a great club in Athletic."
According to reports, a number of top European clubs are ready to make a bid for the highly-rated striker. It will be interesting to see where his future lies.
