Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408 insists that there are no problems between him and manager Andre Villas-Boas.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international laid claims to all reports and speculation that claimed there was falling out between him and the manager, and insisted that Villas-Boas did very much want him at the club.
Lloris was perhaps the most high profile signing by the North London club, arriving from French outfit Lyon in a last minute deadline day transfer.
The player signed for Tottenham for €10 million, and was expected to replace the aging http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953, who at the age of 41 is nearing retirement from professional football.
However, the Frenchman had to wait for his time as Friedel restricted him to the bench. The veteran American goalkeeper has been consistently impressive for Tottenham, helping them secure results as he tightened his grasp on the no.1 goalkeeper jersey.
Many were shocked at the treatment Lloris received, being a regular international and captain of the France national team. His national team coach Didier Deschamps also admitted his surprise and claimed the player was not happy with his role at the club.
Lloris however laid rest to all reports of unrest, and said that there were no problems between him and the manager, and that he was ready to fight for his place in the starting 11. He said:
"About (the) rumours and what happens inside the club, everything has gone off smoothly.”
"There are four keepers at a high level, the coach makes his choices, I have just been hired as part of the future project, but that project starts now. The relationship with Brad Friedel, the keepers' coach and manger are very good.”
"I have not signed at Tottenham to play that [substitute] role, but I am at the disposal of the team, I respect everyone, but I came to play.”
Having played only twice in the Europa League, Lloris put in impressive performances as he kept a clean sheet and made his case for a start in the league.
He was recently handed his first start in the Premier League in the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa this past weekend. Many were surprised as Villas-Boas opted to start Lloris instead of Friedel, ending the American’s record of 310 consecutive league starts.
