Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 and said that he is ready for more games.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international goalkeeper and captain was a last minute addition to the Spurs squad. The player completed a high profile move on deadline day as he joined the likes of Fulham’s Clint Dempsey and Moussa Dembele to become the final parts of manager
Andre Villas-Boas’ new-look Tottenham side.
The player was earmarked to be the immediate replacement for current keeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953 and was understood to be a high priority target for Villas-Boas.
However, this was not the case as Friedel’s impressive performances in goal kept the Frenchmen on the bench. Villas-Boas had said in a press conference that there was no way Lloris would replace the American shot stopper without proving his worth and that
he will have to wait for his chance.
These comments were understood to have upset Lloris, and already there were reports and rumours that claimed there was a rift between player and manager.
However, Lloris later broke his silence and spoke on the matter, saying that he was willing to be patient and ready to fight for his spot in the team.
The goalkeeper finally made his Spurs debut in the 0-0 stalemate against Lazio on Thursday night’s Europa League clash. Spurs had managed to score three goals, but saw them ruled out following two offside decisions and one foul call.
Lloris was pleased with his performance, but left frustrated after his side failed to win another home game. The keeper said that he was sure of more playing time and that he was ready to ‘shake things up’.
The player said:
"The choice lies with the coach but I'm here to shake things up a bit. I'm not worried, if Tottenham came looking for me at Lyon, then surely I will play a part in the future of the club. I just hope that I get the chance to play."
"We wanted to win this game and maybe we were not lucky this evening,” he added.
"We played a great game today but Lazio played like a typical Italian team away from home. They wanted to defend and that made it difficult for us. But now we have to continue to work hard because we want to win the next game in this competition."
