Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408 is delighted with his life in London and is happy to have moved to White Hart Lane, despite reports that claim otherwise.
The French goalkeeper was a last minute high profile signing by Tottenham, arriving to White Hart Lane on deadline day in a €10 million transfer move.
Having been linked to the club throughout the summer, many expected a deal to be finalized earlier. However, there had been problems between Tottenham and Lyon as both clubs failed to agree on a transfer fee.
Lloris was understood to be highly rated by manager Andre Villas-Boas, who had identified him as the club’s future no.1 and the long term replacement for the aging http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953.
However, ever since he moved, Lloris has had to bide his time on the bench as Friedel’s impressive form restricted him from getting playing time.
The player was reportedly not happy with his role at the club. Many were shocked at his treatment, especially because of his status as a regular international and captain of the France national team.
Lloris was only given two starts in the Europa League, and rumours regarding a falling out between the player and Villas-Boas began circulating.
The player however laid rest to all claims of unrest and rubbished them, stating that there were no issues between him and the manager.
He also said that he was ready to wait for his chance and will continue to fight for the no.1 goalkeeper jersey. Lloris was recently given his first start in the Premier League in the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa this past weekend, and was delighted to have
kept a clean sheet.
Talking to the press, he insisted that he was very happy with his move to White Hart Lane. He said:
“To me it was an important choice, a new adventure, a new culture. Indeed I expected to leave [France] much earlier, but you cannot master that as a player.”
"I came at the last minute and a team was already set. I came to improve. Indeed, I have a status in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 but I will have to show it when I will have the opportunity to play.”
"When you came in a new universe, you have to prove yourself and that is logical."
