Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408 is set to have talks with club manager Andre Villas-Boas on his return to White Hart Lane from international duty.
The player has been the subject of controversy ever since he moved to Tottenham from Lyon in a high-profile deadline day move. The France international had been a long term target for Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas and was considered the ideal replacement
for veteran keeper Brad Friedel.
A move to White Hart Lane looked to have broken down, but a last minute deal saw the France number 1 seal a move to North London and become the final part of a new-look Spurs squad.
However, there had been certain comments by the Spurs boss which sparked a controversy regarding the player’s situation at the club. Following an impressive showing by Friedel in the 1-1 home draw against Norwich City, Villas-Boas had said that Lloris would
have to prove his worth if he wished to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953 as first choice goalkeeper.
These comments were obviously take in bad taste by the French shot stopper, who is not used to sitting on the bench. France national team manager Didier Deschamps had said that he’ll have to consider the player’s spot in the starting line up following Villas-Boas’s
comments.
Lloris had chosen to stay quiet about the situation and demonstrated the highest level of professionalism. However, the player has now broken his silence on his move, and reports suggest that he will hold talks with Villas-Boas on his return from international
duty.
Lloris has confirmed that he wishes to clarify his position at Tottenham and would like to talk to the manager after France’s World Cup qualifier against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belarus-c2849 tonight.
"When I join up with the national team, I concentrate uniquely and we'll see about my personal situation when I go back," Lloris said. "Obviously it is not nice if the coach says he will pick someone else for the first team, but we can see what happens.”
"For now, I have to put the situation to one side as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 have important matches and I cannot worry about what might happen at my club."
