Lloyd Holland and Jack Riddell grab Men’s Doubles title at GSOS U13 – Badminton news
Scotland’s Lloyd Holland and Jack Riddell proved their domination on court as they played with remarkable precision and easily grabbed Men’s Doubles title at the GSOS U13 on Sunday, September 2, in Scotland.
The impressive Lloyd and Jack put up spectacular show of attacking badminton and remained successful in crushing their lower ranked team-mates Ewan Mathieson and James Morgan in a lopsided fashion without letting them to put up strong resistance.
The top seeded Lloyd and Jack were impressive in all aspects as they played positive and aggressive badminton in the whole competition and remained successful in winning the battle in straight sets with an incredible margin on score board.
In the meanwhile, the second seeded Ewan and James could not show their positive skills as they were unable to put up strong show against their in-form rivals and eventually went down in just 26 minutes without snatching any game from Lloyd and Jack.
The opening set was shocking for Ewan and James as they could not show aggression on court and remained struggling to find a good flow.
On the other hand, the impressive Lloyd and Jack played with tremendous control in their shots and managed a wonderful lead until the end of opening half.
After the break, Lloyd and Jack continued showing their aggression without sparing any chance for their rivals to put up strong resistance. They stretched their lead without facing any trouble.
The top seeded Scottish pair maintained pressure on their opponents in the whole opening set and ended it up with a crushing margin of 21-8.
In the second game, the lower ranked Ewan and James tried to play fast and positive badminton but again they failed to show aggression on court and remained struggling against their in-form opponents.
Lloyd and Jack, in the meanwhile, remained on track and took a comfortable lead until the break.
After the mid-game interval, Lloyd and Jack continued putting up phenomenal show of top class badminton and managed to end up the fight with a smashing difference of 21-8.
The higher ranked Lloyd and Jack won this Men’s Doubles final battle in an inspiring fashion with a killing 21-8 and 21-8 score on the board.
