LOL....I only bring this up because I would have thought such music was 'un-islamic' and that regardless of the beard (a symbol of faith, appearance wise for muslim men) he was negating the significance of it entirely.

There were two guys in a car, both with beards, and they had a crescent motif dangling from their rearview mirror. A bumper sticker on the back read 'Islam forever'.

I was with some friends and we happened to stop at the traffic lights alongside these gents, who then proceeded to eye us up and flirt with us. All of us laughed so hard we had tears coming out of our eyes rofl...and my Canadian friend Jennifer replied 'not on your best day' and gave them a middle finger , we all 'died' from laughter in the process. They towed our car aggressively from behind flashing their headlights so again we met them at the traffic lights.

we asked these idiots if there was something we could help them with ?

and the driver responded with 'yeah how about your phone numbers for a start ?'

my friend jennifer replied with 'how about we call 999 and tell them you're stalking us you sick in the head f@cks ?'

the gentleman in the passenger seat moved forward in a pissed off state and suggested to my friend 'she watch her mouth'.

She told them their music sucked, and that if they didn't back off she'd hold true to her threat of calling the cops on their lame asses.

Luckily for us two s**y as sin cockney lads in a van to our right noticed some sort of altercation between these two boys and ourselves, and the cute fella with the tatt asked as reassuringly if 'we were okay and that if those two blokes were hassling us'

we said 'yes'

the two bearded guys drove off like no tomorrow, we laughed ourselves wet. Hilarious. Its just that, they had no idea what was coming their way and must have thought twice that day about 'trying it on' with other young girls in vehicles. I told my dad this story and he was laughing in fits haha.

You can't help but wonder if those 2 boys were confused, unable to decide whether to live in the western world or the islamic world.

I think that a lot of second/third generation Asian guys in the UK use the whole 'terrorist-chic' image as a way of creating an identity in a Britain that increasingly has no place for them, in the same way that republicans in Northern Ireland in the 1970s and 80s wore the kefir to show they identified with Palestinian freedom fighters. Why shouldn't young men listen to hip-hop music and cruise for girls? Did you get into a big discussion with them about how carefully they observe their faith?

These boys behaved rudely to you, but no differently than white Protestant English boy racers would have done (certainly that was my experience when I lived in London). Would you have felt differently about this incident if the boys had been white? Would you have blamed it on their religion?

I think its a bit dangerous to make huge generalisations about people based on their appearance. These were just guys out for a laugh, messing and trying it on with young giggly girls who may also have seemed up for a laugh. Religion has little to do with it. Have you or any of your friends been brought up with a particular religion? If any of them are Catholic, do you take exception if they ever wear a cross on a chain, or do you expect them never to use contraception or not to have s*x before marriage? People are much more relaxed about following the rules of their religion these days, and some people are quite happy having a dual identity. I don't think it's necessarily confusion about "whether to live in the western world or the islamic world". It is quite possible to do both.

And it's completely offensive of you to state that you expect them to be violent and terrorists. The massive majority of Muslims are about as violent as the vast majority of Christians. Your edited comments are ignorant and bigoted.

Perhaps the Western influences will stop young Muslim men from turning against the West, to an extreme level of violence or terrorism.  I know you weren't interested, but perhaps you could have let them down in a more gentle manner, such as saying that both of you were engaged..?  It's important to always be NICE, to everyone.
