Question:

Loading kids into the car....?

I have this magnet on my car (bought it from a childcare store) that has a big hand with letters and numbers around the outside. I get the 2 kids that don't need a carseat to hop in and put there seatbelt on. Then I have everyone put there hand on the big hand. I take the baby first and put her in the carseat. Then I take the next and the next until we finished.

Today I saw a women with 4 children almost have 1 hit by a car because she was loading a child in. I have 2 magnets, (one per side) so I gave her one for the future.

So I'm just wondering, what do you do to put everyone in the car safely?

  1. I get everyone in with their butts in a seat then we do the buckle up thing.. :)

  2. I say "Okay kids, get in and buckle up."  I hold open doors and make sure the kids are in safely.  I get in my seat and buckle myself.  Then I ask, "Is everyone buckled?"  I taught my kids really early how to buckle themselves.  At first, I would double check everyone myself.  As my older kids became more capable, I had them check.  Now, my older kids are 15, 13 and 8, and they check the 4 and 5 year olds for me.

Hang in there, it gets easier!  Good for you for making sure your kids are safe!

  3. I only have one baby. But if I had a mini van & multiple kids I would put them all in & than buckle them up.

  4. I stand on the passenger side while 2 get in when there in I go around to the driver side the other one gets in then I put in the baby. I then make sure all have there seat belts on.

  5. Pix my five year old son holds my hand and I useually have  a cart whitch Samantha my three year old daughter sits in but if the doesn't then I hold her hand with my other hand, both my kids have a car seat still but I guid Samantha in still holding her hand then still holding Pix's hand I guid him in too I tell Pix to buckle up Samantha if she has trouble buckling herself and Pix buckles himself then I close the door and lock Pix's and Samantha's door and load in our purches if we have any, oh yeah both kids go in the back seat

  6. I only have 2 children. One is 4 and one is 6. I have a 4 door car. I have both kids climb in on the same side and then buckle them (although the 6 yr old can now buckle self).

  7. I only have two children.  My daughter (3 1/2 years old) waits on the grass for me to put her in after I put her baby brother in.  So far, so good.  In a parking lot, she knows to stay close to my side.  She's very good.

  8. Let them all get in on one side.  Have them all sit down then do the seat belts.
