Question:

Loads of greenflies keep flying through my window when I put light on. What is the best way to kill them?

I can not put up a net curtain it is rented privatly so can not put anything up. I have tried citonelia in a tea candle and fly spray but doesn't work.

  1. Make a removable window screen that you can wedge into the window frame.  Even 1/2X1/2 wood, would hold the screen.  You could make it fit the opening or if you have a sill it could rest on the sill.  The yellow bulb will work but is not bright enough to read by.

  3. Get hold of some ladybirds.  They eat greenfly.

    Next question: how to get rid of the ladybirds?

  6. Probably easiest to just ignore them. It doesn't really bother me all that much

  7. I  think  they  have  a  short  life  span.  You need  a  window  screen.  Also  can  use  a  sticky fly strip.

  8. Don't put a white light out.  Put a yellow tinted one.  That will help.
