I need help finding a close by MMA gym. I live in Long beach 90808 el dorado park estates on claremore. I hav a found BTT(Vrazilian Top Team) but my mom says it is too far. The gym can't be too pricey. Within $150 a month. I heard there is one next to the El Dorado teen Center (it used to be located at cubberly). If anyone has the name of it please let me know.

  1. I've been in Shotokan martial art's 8 years and I can say that I'm happy in a regular martial art's school. Regular martial arts schools practice fighting that's very similar to MMA and you may want to try some before getting into a hardcore MMA program.

In my opinion, and I'm guessing your young because you said your mom said the school is to far, is to avoid mixed martial arts if you are just starting out in martial arts. I had a buddy who knew nothing about martial arts and joined an MMA program and he would get beat up very badly and it was not worth it.

Of course, there are some good MMA programs out there, but I want to give you some advice and say that, don't be afraid to try some regular martial arts school because you might like it and on top of that, they doing kumite which is nearly the same exact thing as MMA!

  2. dude b careful theres creepy ppl on here dont give ur address out

  3. I know BTT is too far for you, but that place is legit dude.  Bustamante and Ricardo Arona are from that camp along with tons of other top tier fighters.  Try to go there if you can.
