Where can I find info on local and county liquor laws? Earlier today I was bartending and made a mistake with an undercover sting to catch ppl who serve to underage. I was charged with "sale of liquor to a minor". We are questioning whether or not i actually sold it because i never took possessiion of the money. I set the beer onto the bar while i looked at her id. I walked 10ft to my boss and showed him just to make sure it was 1987 is the year thats turning 21. Whenshe set her ID down she laid it onto the money and i just slid both the money and ID back towards me to pick it up. But I never sold it. I dumped the beer and asked her to leave.

The officer didn't give me any info on what my next step is and I'd like to find out. So i need to find local liquor ordinances for Illinois towns

  1. You should have Asked for ID before delivering the alcohol.  You served to a minor.

You should look at the Illinois compiled statutes.

    http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilc...

look at section 235 and read.  The state law takes precedence over any local law - that is local municipalities can not make a law more strict than the state unless the law says they can.

You can find the local ordinance - but you just have to see the city where it occurred website - and look for the ordinance link.
