i'm planning on working on a couple projects and i need to figure out where to do it. i don't have a garage, don't know anyone willing to let me borrow their garage, and doing it inside isn't an option.

are there spaces i could rent for this type of thing? like storage space or something? i heard people work on cars sometimes in storage spaces. my work will involve mostly dremel tools, sparks will fly.. heavy sanding and possibly painting.

any ideas? point me in the right direction? thanks

  1. ya, call up your local storage spot

  2. A friend of mine carries an 8' X 12' canopy (with plastic side tarps) onto job sites. He used this wikiup as a shop during woodworking projects.

    Works OK for him

  3. You might try contacting a few of the really big churches in your area. Sometimes they have a garage or utility area and might be willing to swap out some space rental in return for some time volunteered on any of their projects. If that doesnt pan out and you live anywhere near the country side, find a property with a barn ( or just an open field). Many of the barns are only slightly or totally unused and the owners might be happy to get a few bucks for the use of it. Other ideas might be abandoned air fields, they usually have electricity somewhere and RV campgrounds in the off season. They have electricity and when there are no campers in the "off season" any income would likely be welcome.
