Location of fuel pump for 1994 Transport SE?

Question

Hi all a friend of mine has a 94 Transport SE that just died suddenly. The motor turns over, but the engine doesn't start. Tried putting gasoline directly into the carb and the engine started and ran for a little while. We think the van may have run out of gas and so we put in about 2 gallons to try and get it going again. Anybody have any ideas? I think it might be either the fuel filter or the fuel pump, does anybody know where the fuel pump is located?

in the fuel tank

the fuel pump is located in the fuel tank ,and the filter is on  the frame rail. sounds like a fuel pump.
