  1. As splurkles said the sun, It is the way it is captured that differs. the ANU in Canberra has a great deal of info in relation to generating power from the sun, they actually sell some of the power to the grid.

    Wollongong Uni is also putting up a solar panel system as well.

    As for where they are located at, Queanbeyan Country Energy has some solar panels at their office.

    But panels are not the only thing that collect solar power. You have troughs that reflect onto pipes and heat water help current coal fired power stations, this pre heats the water which means less coal is used to create steam.

    But the biggest producers of solar power is people like you and me, slapping on solar panels on the roof as well as solar hot water heaters.

  3. There is. A new PV solar plant is going to be built in Western Victoria by Solar Systems. Currently solar powe in Australia provides only 1% of the electricity needs.
