  1. many different ways how to do it.

  2. You need to encrypt your hard drive and put the decryption process on the USB drive.  Otherwise anyone can just use a different USB drive or CD or DVD to boot up and get around your scheme.  There are programs and hardware that take care of this for you, but they are expensive.

The cheapest way to secure your system is to use easily removable hard drives, and when you shut your system down, remove them and lock them in a safe or take them with you.

  3. fUNNY YOU SHOULD ASK, i WAS PULLING OUT MY NEW USB DEVICE and mine had a program I download to lock the computer. It's 2 gb transcend Jetflash. It only costs $9.99 at COMP USA. So I hope I helped. Good luck!

  4. You can lock your computer from the bios screen. To get in you usually have to press some key like F2 or Esc when the computer first starts up. Poke around in there for security settings and set a password on your HD. This way you have to know the password to get your machine to boot.

    hope it helped.
