Locking up when hitting the menu button

Question

Just last week my phone started acting crazy. I cannot get into the menu area. Every time I hit the menu button it goes to a screen that says "games & apps" at the top and the rest of the screen is blank. It locks up and will not do anything no matter what buttons you press. I have to close the phone and then it will reset itself. I have a new text message and I can't get into the test message folder to check it. Can anyone tell me what I need to do? I have tried everything, taking out the battery, taking out the smart chip....
