Question

If I donate my hair to Lock For Love 5 times, can I put that on my college application?

Would that be considered volunteer work? I know that I'm going to donate my hair 5 times anyways. My aunt just got cancer- and I wanted to find a way that I can help other people with cancer.

If I can put it on my college application- htat would jsut be a bonus! (Just so you know, I'm not being bratty and jsut doing this for college. I am going to cut it whether or not colleges care!)

I don't think so, because you're not working, you're just being nice. so how come you want them to consider this as volunteer work

I don't think you can put it on your college application since it is a donation not volunteer work.

That would be like someone saying that they are active in their church because they mailed in a $5.00 donation a few times.

I think it's great that you want to help by donating your hair and I hope your aunt becomes a survivor.

I'm pretty sure you can't since you're just donating hair. If you want to somehow include it in your college application you should write about it in one of your essays. I'm not sure about other universities, but UC (university of california) schools have a place at the end of their essay portion where you can write whatever you want. That would be a perfect place for you to talk about donating your hair and how your aunt was just diagnosed with cancer. Hope that helped, good luck with apps! (:
