so this house is a little "door crazy". french doors all over the house, each door needs a k**b and a deadbolt. ideally i want most of the doors to open with the same (1 key) rather than 20 keys. seriously. i might need around 20 locks altogether. most of them will be the same model, but need the same key. home depot, sometimes i can find 2 or 3 with the same key, but i need way more.

thanks in advance.

  1. Go to your local hardware store, they should be able to help!

  2. You could order these from a larger builders merchants they would then order them from thier suppliers

  3. u dont have to have locks on every room!!

but if u want, just go toa lock smith or home depot, lowes any kind of hardware store and they can help you out!

they will give u as many as u want for one key...itll cost a lot tho just saying... i would just get a couple for the most needed rooms,,

  4. TAKE YOUR LOCKS TO HOME DEPOT WITH THE KEY YOU WANT TO USE, THE LOCKSMITH WILL RE TUMBLE THEM ALL TO WORK WITH THAT KEY. (FOR A FEE OF COURSE)

  5. When you buy the locks from any home improvement or hardware store, go to the place where they make keys and tell them you want them all keyed the same.

When locks are all keyed the same, there is simply a set of lock pins inside the tumbler that are all set in the same pattern. When you insert a key into a lock like this, the jagged edge of the key positions the pins such that they're flat against the edge of the tumbler, which allows the lock to open. For the same key in different locks, the lengths of the pins inside the tumbler for each lock just have to be all the same pattern.

It's very quick, easy, and cheap for them to do.

  6. ANY HARDWARE STORE

  7. home depot or sears paint and hardware can order "keyed - alike" lock sets...a lock smith can switch out the locks so they are all keyed alike....

  8. go to a locksmith and ask for the k***s and dead bolts keyed the same
