Locog informs applicants of their London 2012 Olympic tickets
Locog, the London 2012 Olympics organizer, has emailed the 700,000 applicants for London 2012 Olympics tickets today, informing them about the seats that they have been allocated and the sports that they have been assigned. The information was relayed to
the applicants via a mass email.
However, all applicants have not yet been informed as Locog has sent out posts to those who applied by the same means. These applicants will be getting the news before the week reaches its close.
Despite the fact that the applicants knew nearly $3 million tickets had been sold previously and that the chances of getting the tickets for their sports of choice would be low, there was still a considerable amount of disappointment upon the outcome of
the emails.
Some of the applicants pointed out different sports in their application by giving choices in a range of 1-5. These applicants included the majority at 80%. In contrast, others had given more than five sports as their choices.
The 1.2 million people who were not successful at the ticket ballot have another chance to grab themselves seats for the event this Friday as the process of ticket sales will start another round.
The Olympics have always been a momentous occasion in the world of sports and apart from profiting the athletes who take part in the event, it also benefits the city it is held in terms of economic impact. To build the necessary infrastructure to support
the influx of both sports delegations as well as spectators generates a lot of business. It also calls on the city to provide these guests with suitable accommodations.
London will have the honour of hosting the Olympics for the third time in its history. The first event took place in 1908 while the second on was in 1948.
There are still a total of 1.3 million tickets remaining to be sold so those applicants who are interested in making the purchase should start making preparations. However, there is no need to hurry as the sales will not take place until the start of next
year.
