Lodgefield Turbo favourite for Happy 21st Birthday Aiden Kelly 550
Lodgefield Turbo is tipped to win the Happy 21st Birthday Aiden Kelly 550 at Harold’s Cross in Ireland on Friday, July 6, 2012. A cash prize of €400 will be awarded to the Grade OR winner.
The 550 yard flat race will test the stamina of all runners and the action is scheduled to start at 21:15 GMT. The competition is expected to be a close one, but the best chances of victory appear with Lodgefield Turbo. He has earned the confidence of the
bookies, thus the punters will also be interested in risking a lot of money on him.
The Traynor’s trained hound debuted in December last year in a Grade A5 race. He was flawless back then and took the top spot by a comfortable margin of 12 lengths. He followed that up with another victory in this class, but was unable to complete a hat-trick,
as he finished runner up next time around.
The black dog kept on performing impressively in the 2012 season and won a couple of races at Harold’s Cross. However, his form has dipped to some extent in recent times, as he was unable to finish amongst the top three in his most recent outing.
Hades Rocket’s son out of Lodgefield Dawn was given a starting price of 5 to 1 in his previous race and he was expected to challenge the front runners. However, he failed to meet the expectations of his fans and had to settle for the fourth spot. The disappointing
thing was that he did not even manage to challenge the top three.
Despite that, Lodgefield Turbo has got a very good chance of shining at Harold’s Cross today. However, he will need to be at his absolute best in order to regain the lost touch.
There are some other decent runners lined up for action in the race today. One of them is Coolavanny Shine, whose performances in this class have been quite impressive. He has been a touch rusty in the ongoing season, which will go against him in the end.
However, the F. Black’s trained hound has proved to quite strong in the past. He has won three Grade OR events and will be a top contender for another victory today.
