Lofty Elizabeth Matindas finds perfect start at Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open 2012
Indonesia’s talented player Elizabeth Matindas found a perfect start as she easily ousted her compatriot Gladys Virginia Sumito in Women’s Singles first round at Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open 2012 in Indonesia, on Monday, November 5.
The in-form Elizabeth entertained the local fans with her aggressive approach on court and she remained successful in starting off her campaign in the tournament in a completely dominating manner.
Elizabeth was on a different level as she dictated the pace of rallies and pushed her rival in all corners of the court. She managed to end up this contest in straight games in a crushing fashion by consuming just 25 minutes on court.
On the other hand, Virginia failed to put up strong show as she could not play dominating badminton and also remained unable to cope up with the pace of rallies. She lost in the opening round without displaying a strong performance.
In the first set, the in-form Elizabeth performed remarkably well from the opening rallies and controlled the affairs of the game in a dominating manner.
The impressive Indonesian shuttler was quite comfortable in taking the bird early and she did not encounter any problem in hitting her strokes in right areas.
Elizabeth advanced with a terrific speed in the first half of opening set and stayed ahead on score board until the break.
After the mid-game interval, the lofty Elizabeth stayed focused on court and remained successful in maintaining a comfortable gap without showing any mercy to her rival.
Elizabeth remained consistent in executing powerful shots and eventually bagged the opening game in an inspiring fashion with a 21-11 score on the board.
On the other hand, Virginia again failed to follow to stop the progress of her rival in the opening half of second set.
However, Elizabeth remained focused on court and picked the bird early which helped her to stay in command until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Elizabeth continued putting up amazing show and took the game with a superb 21-16 total on score board.
The impressive Elizabeth advanced into the second round after showing exit to Virginia with a convincing margin of 21-11 and 21-16.
