Lofty Vladimir Malkov grabs Men’s Singles title at Hungarian International to get back on track
Vladimir Malkov, who is one of the most talented shuttlers from Russia, finally found his rhythm back as he played with impressive precision all the way to end up as Men’s Singles title winner at the 37th Yonex Hungarian International Championships
2012 at the starting week of November, 2012.
The spirited Malkov have been struggling hard for the last one year to make his presence felt to the world but remained unable to manage it until the Hungarian International when he proved his worth and found his winning flow back by claiming the crown.
The passionate Malkov, who was the top seeded shuttler in Men’s Singles main draw of the tournament, played with remarkable speed and precision throughout the tournament and remained successful in winning the title in a completely dominating fashion.
In the opening match of the tournament, Malkov was up against Denmark’s talented shuttler Victor Svendsen who has also been working well for the last few months.
Russian shuttler showed an amazing aggression in the arena as he played with complete command and dictated his rival in all areas of the court from the initial points of first set and remained successful in winning it with a reasonable margin.
The top seeded Russian remained aggressive in the following game and by keeping the pace of rallies at the maximum level. He did not show any mercy to his Danish rival and won the set with a stunning margin and ended up the match in straight games.
In the second round, Malkov took on another Danish shuttler Mikkel Mikkelsen who is one of the most promising and young shuttler in the world. He played with remarkable precision and troubled his higher ranked Russian challenger throughout the match.
However, the higher ranked Malkov geared up his speed in all areas of the court and remained successful in winning the match in a close fashion in hard-fought rubber games with a close margin on the score board.
In the quarter-final clash of the tournament, Malkov faced Thomas Rouxel of France who stayed impressive in all of his previous matches, beating some impressive shuttlers in his way to the top-eight stage.
It was a stunning fight when both players showed a remarkable aggression and pushed each other in all areas of the court. They remained neck-to-neck in the whole quarter-final clash but it was Malkov who managed to win the battle in rubber game with a close
margin on the score board.
Malkov was up against Chetan Anand of India in the Men’s Singles semi-final clash. Both shuttlers showed wonderful performance in the arena and stayed close on score board in the whole contest.
Nevertheless, the in-form Russian shuttler did not show any sign of pressure in the ending points of final game and managed to register victory over Anand in three sets with reasonable difference on score board.
In the final battle of the Championships, Malkov impressed the local crowd with his unmatched skills when he created pressure on his French rival Inoki Theopilus who remained unbeaten throughout the tournament indicating his impressive form.
Malkov did not show any mercy to his French rival as he played with amazing speed and confidence on court and remained successful in claiming the title by winning the final battle in straight games with a superb margin.
The Russian shuttler proved that he is ready to face the top shuttlers from all over the world in the Men’s Singles category as he has achieved the highest class skills and can spoil the party of any of his opponents on a given day.
