Log into my router????

Question

I am trying to log into my router to create a password for my wireless internet, but i cannot log in.

It shows a drop down menu with an e-mail address, and I type the password for the e-mail address, but it won't log me into the router... How can I log into the router?

p.s. I also tried to leave the user name blank and the password "admin"

I have also tried typing "admins" as both the user name AND password, but still cannot log into my router...

HELP???

Well if you dont remember the password then do this...

On your router there should be a "reset" button.

You might need a pen or something small to push on it.

Hold it for about 10 seconds and this will reset everything to default.

So use the computer with the direct connection to the router and modem and enter the address.

The default username and password should then work.

Usually the default is:

username: username (or whatever the field is, the same as it)

password: password

Some also don't require a login but display the message anyway so also try leaving it blank.

If you still can't log in go to the website of the router's manufacturer and look at the support section for your product.

um. are you going to 192.168.1.1?

i get to my router password and settings by going to 192.168.1.1. try that

If you are the person who set this router up, then you are also the person who set up the password. If you are not the network administrator, then there is a reason that the person who is the administrator put a password on there. If you need access to the network, please ask the administrator and they will give you the password.

If you are, in fact, the network administrator and have simply forgotten your password, then please check your instruction manual to find out how to perform a hard reset.  Usually, there will be a button or switch physically located on the router itself.  This will reset the password as well as any other settings on the router.

well you should log into your router via default router IP, I don't know were e-mail adresses come into play.  Any way if your using a linksys router than the username is linksys and the password is admin (until you change it).

Alot of the routers will have a very small reset hole on the back too. This will reset the username and password back to the defaualt

Get a copy of the router manual, this will tell you how to log in and the default passwords.

Well for my router (Belkin G+ Mimo), I just type in my IP address into Internet Explorer. When it asks for the password, I just leave it blank, since that's what it says the default is. I don't have to type in a User Name or email address however, so all i cna say is to try all of them with a blank password form.
