Logano And Harvick End The Nascar Race Amid Heated Brawl
Joey Logano is angry! He thinks that Kevin Harvick carelessly wrecked him at the finish of the Sprint Cup held last Sunday. Well, Harvick himself is known as an angry man.
Logano has been convinced that Harvick, another furious NASCAR driver, had intentionally wrecked his car, Number 20, which hit the wall after the crash as smoke clouded it completely. The incident was followed by some real harsh words from both the angry drivers. The crew members and the officials rushed towards the spot to keep the furious drivers from brawling.
The 20 year old young lad, Logano is an up rising star at Joe Gibbs Racing. This year was marked as his second in NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series. In his short sporting career he has already won one Cup race and had the rival not bumped into him, he was heading for another victory here on Sunday.
After Harvick’s car touched his, Logano had a complete spin and was destined for the 13th place. Harvick finished fourth at the end of the race, who already leads the Cup standings.
Many race followers have remembered from this incident, the seven year old Harvick’s race. At the age of 27, Harvick faced similar incident with Ricky Rudd at the last stage of the 2003 Cup race in Richmond. At that time it was Rudd who had put the bumper of his car into the back of Harvick's car.
Well! The difference between both the events however, is Logano's father, Tom. He was right there standing next to his son’s car and looked like just an older version of Logano to give Harvick a good treat of harsh words. Seeing Tom’s attitude one gets to think that he surely knows Harvick's history of fights and quarrels.
Moreover, talking about the event for a TV interview, Joey Logano went to the extent that he talked about Harvick's wife, DeLana, who always wears a racing suit similar to Harvick, saying that he does not know what Harvick's problem actually is, but probably it is his wife, who tells him what he is supposed to do all the time.
However, after all the gossips and hard words Logano had to say, Harvick dismissed the entire issue saying that one cannot talk to him, as he is just twenty. DeLana, however, wrote on her Twitter page that evening, “with age comes wisdom and respect. Enough said".
Nevertheless it is not age that matters as Kevin Harvick himself has shown in the past that age has little to do with NASCAR drivers when it comes to getting fumed and staking their ground.
Harvick was seven years older than what Logano is now, when the angry young man also created the same dispute after one of his races. It was then Harvick who stood atop of his car following the Chevy Rock & Roll 400, when Ricky Rudd pushed him on the front stretch in the last laps of the race, sending Harvick slamming in the wall. Harvick created a good scene out of it, pronouncing it as an intentional attempt against him. Later on October, 11 2008 Kevin Harvick had a good round of brawl with Carl Edwards as well at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway. The incident caught a lot of publicity and was considered as a very childish act from the drivers.
However, it is once again Harvick in the news and getting publicity once again for the samereason, a fight at the track. Probably the clashes on the tracks would keep going on as long as the races keep going on but people have now become accustomed to hear of Harvick whenever they hear of a Nascar fight.
