Question:

Logging off on Dell laptop?

on my Dell inspiron 1525 laptop, when i close the lid it automatically logs off, which i do not want it to do. How can i change that option?

  1. go to the control panel > power options > select ADVANCE from the top tag > then change the option there.

  2. Right click on the desktop, go to Properties.  Under the Screen Saver tab click Power.  Then go to Advance tab.  Under "When I close the lid of my portable computer:" Select "Do nothing"

  3. Log on to your computer as an administrator. Click on Start, go to Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Power Options.

    # Click on Change plan settings for the currently active plan.

    # Click on Change advanced power settings link.

    # In the “Power Options” dialog box’s “Advanced Settings” tab for the active power plan, expand Power buttons and lid.

    # Expand Lid close action.

    # Change the value to Do nothing for “Lid close action” by selecting a new option from drop down menu for both On battery and Plugged in.  

  4. Um... don't close the lid? J/K Go to your control panel and change login options.

  5. on your desktop, right click to go to properties.

    in properties, click on the right most tab ( system if i am not mistaken ) which will have the energy saving options.

    Deselect the option that says automatically log off when lid is close.


  6. Go to control panel, then power options and reset it there

  7. See the battery or "cord" icon in the bottom right(if you dont, then unplug it and the battery icon will appear.

    right click, click on adjust power properties click the Advanced tab.
