Logging on to Windows XP

Question

I have a new install of windows xp,(computer had been wiped clean) I activated it last night. I used it fine, and now when I open it up it says that I need to activate before I can log in, I hit yes and it says already actived thank-you and hit Ok. I do that and it takes me to the log in screen and it says logging off. I can not get past this. I called Microsoft and couln't get a person. Can you help. Thanks Carol
