Im deliberating on buying a new Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote for my home theatre but I have some questions first. I have remote dimming lights in the room, and was wondering if the remote can learn its functions, as well as my motorized projector screen. If it cannot learn these functions I see no reason to get this remote. If anyone knows of any remoter capable of doing those could you please tell me?

  1. Hey,

There is some very easy things one can do to know if his current setup will work with Harmony.

Try to see if you can find your current devices by using the tool via the Logitech website called "check computability now"

    http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/remote...

If this still does not really convince you, just check the specs for you devices because if they use IR there is a pretty good chance that you can make it work.

Otherwise I might want to suggest the Philips Pronto, if there is a Sherman Tank in the field of Universal Remotes its the Pronto, love it!!

Hope this works out for you.

  2. Harmony 1 works well on a very simple system. Any complications in the system make them much harder to deal with, and often force the user to make sacrifices.

Here's a few that are a little harder to set up, but they will do about anything.

    MX

    RTI

    Pronto

    Nevo

It is important that your lighting and screen control are IR instead of RF.
