I have an HP paviolion dv8000 laptop running windows xp, i plug in my logitech m-bj58 mouse into the USB port. The hardware wizard opens up and recognizes USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse under other drivers. I installed the drivers and it comes up with the error

"cannot install this hardware"
"An error occurred during the installation of the device". The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor."

It then removes it from other devices and places USB Optical WheelMouse under Human Interface Devices and under mice and other pointing devices its labeled unknown device. I've tried this mouse on a new HP thats running vista and it automatically detects it with no problem. I tried other ports on my laptop but was unsuccessful. I tried looking for othere drivers online but received the same response.
