Question:

Logitech Wireless speakers?

I want to buy some wireless speakers from logitec- you know, the top of the line one they make for music and movie junkies?

It's called the Z-5500 I think. The speakers are wireless- so I want to know what kind of power source they need. Battery (Duh...) but what kind, and how long will it all last before I need to replace all those batteries? Are they rechargeable?

  1. The Z-5500 is not wireless although Logitech does have a wireless speaker system called the Z-5450 (it might be discontinued, I don't know). I agree with Big C. Wireless speakers aren't that great. You can interfere with them using your cell phone or some other electronic devices. They also have a small chance of picking up radio interference. On the other hand, the Z-5500 is an amazing set. 505 watts RMS power. I use one myself and my whole street can hear it when I have it turned up 3/4 of the way.

The batteries for the wireless system last fairly long (my colleague owns a set in his office across the hall; I've never seen him change the batteries), but it's conceivable that it depends partly on how loud you play them.

  2. My advice, don't by wireless speakers.
