Question:

Logo Alt Tag?

In my shop server I have a additonal feature of adding a Logo Alt Tag to each product I create. This was added by my SEO at the time, whom I am no longer in touch with- but Im hoping someone can tell me exactly what it means, and how to make the most of it to optimise my site.

Thank you :)

  1. There is an awful lot more wrong with your on-site SEO - the basics are in a mess - I suggest you sort that out before worrying about subtle things like alt tags

  2. On a web page it is like this.

    <img src="http://example com/logo gif" width="50" height="50" border="0" alt="Corporate Logo" />

    The second, is to put your info inside the image. I once went to flamingtext.com to get logos for my site and when I viewed the source of the images a few months later, the info for the flamingtext.com was there. Naturally, if you kow what you are doing (like myself) you can remove.

    Take a look at this article

  3. Img Alt / Image Alt

    Img Alt is the alternative text to browsers that do not see the image. Browsers like "Lynx", browsers used by the blind etc.

    This is what Google gas to say about img alt:

    Images: Use the alt attribute to provide descriptive text. In addition, we recommend using a human-readable caption and descriptive text around the image.
