http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Lorient-c39153’s Chairman says that the club made a significant effort to bring a few good players to the club and it is up to them to perform well on the field
After Week 12 of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 Championnat, FC Lorient are in 11th place in the league standings with 15 points and a poor goal difference of -6. This was indeed not in the script considering the start Les Merlus had to the new season.
After an opening day draw against Paris Saint-Germain, Lorient stayed unbeaten in the league for eight games before they were thrashed 6-1 away to Valenciennes. And only last week, Christian Gourcuff’s side were thrashed 4-0 by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francis-c13946 Gillot’s FC Girondins
de Bordeaux at home.
Three bad defeats mean that a team that in their last four Ligue 1 outings, Lorient have conceded 16 goals, lost three times and have drawn once which is a clear indicator of the fact that the Breton club might be sinking in the domestic table.
And, it appears that the club president is running out of patience with his players. While talking to L’Equipe regarding the mini crisis that the club’s fans are witnessing at the moment, the Lorient supremo chose to use a different tone.
Fery says that the club made a lot of efforts to sign new players in the transfer market to strengthen the team.
“This summer, we produced a significant effort to strengthen the group. Players need to take control of their destiny.”
The likes of Benjamin Corgnet and Alain Traore signed for the Bretons this summer and Fery has signalled his players to remain consistent and perform well for their new club.
“I told http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 team, but I expect that he shows that he can be an indisputable starting member here in Lorient, which is not the case. I
also expect our defenders that they have an attitude worthy of Ligue 1.”
After five weeks of the Championnat, Les Merlus were in third place in the league. However, after some poor displays, they languish in the bottom half of the table and players indeed need to take up more responsibility for their performance on the pitch.
