Loic Remy attracting interest from Sunderland – Ligue 1 news
Reports in French media suggest that English Premier League strugglers Sunderland FC are considering making separate bids for French strikers Loic Remy.
Loic Remy is currently on the books of Olympique de Marseille where he is the undisputed striker under Didier Deschamps. Sunderland are currently in 16th place in the Barclays Premier League rankings and with relegation becoming a distinct possibility,
manager Steve Bruce is keen on adding fresh faces to the side in the upcoming winter transfer window.
The recent weeks have seen many Premier League clubs turn their gazes on the French Ligue 1 in order to replenish their squad. Newcastle United have already marked Ligue 1 as their shopping destination and it seems that their archrivals Sunderland are also
keen on following the same pattern.
With the Black Cats not firing on all cylinders despite bringing in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in the summer, Steve Bruce is in dire need of a facelift at the club in order to steer the club away from the dreaded relegation zone.
Loic Remy is one of those players whose profile is appreciated by Steve Bruce. Making a move for Loic Remy is certainly a big ask for the English club as the youngster is currently at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 – a club where he has the chance to play in the
UEFA Champions League on a regular basis. Furthermore, Remy is unlikely to take a step down in order to play in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 which means that both the player and his parent club will not sanction a move to Sunderland.
Furthermore, with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Equatorial-Guinea-c2892, Deschamps will never sanction a move for his in-form striker who is currently injured at the moment.
Reports also suggest that Steve Bruce is keeping his options open by keeping a keen eye on the progress of Nolan Roux who is playing for Stade Brestois at the moment.
Nolan Roux could consider moving away from Brest. The young striker was on the verge of making a move to German Bundesliga side Schalke 04 but a fee could not be agreed upon between the two clubs. Since then, the Germans have not contacted the club for Roux
and a move to Sunderland could be on the offing for the mercurial and volatile striker if both clubs reach an agreement over the transfer fee.
