The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 striker is not really worried about the uncertainty about his future but could sign for the cash-laden Spanish club despite previously linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur
In a gloomy and chaotic season for Olympique de Marseille, one man was able to come out good. Loic Remy scored 12 goals in 28 games for Les Phoceens in Ligue 1 and was one of the bright lights of an otherwise poor season for the Rhone club.
The striker developed a lot despite Marseille’s obvious troubles over the course of the 2011/2012 campaign. Often in his career, Remy was criticised for not making full use of his aerial ability and last season, all that changed for the striker.
Though an injury at the Clairefontaine ended his Euro hopes, Remy still has a good profile in Europe and has been hotly linked with a move to English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. It was initially the idea of Harry Redknapp to bring the player to
White Hart Lane.
And, despite the departure of the Englishman, new manager Andre Vilas Boas is also keen on bringing the player to North London this summer. While talking to Canal Plus Sport, Remy said that he is still proud to be wearing the colours of Marseille and is
not getting carried away from all the transfer talk around him.
“I am very proud to wear this jersey, for now, there is no news that I leave. I already said that last year. It can still happen but it’s not in my head. I am preparing to have a good season with my club.”
However, the 25-year-old’s statements should not ooze optimism for the fans at all. Remy is not the sole decision maker in terms of his future at the Velodrome. Les Phoceens need to free up some cash and will be willing to sell the player if the right offer
is placed.
Reports claim that La Liga side Malaga are keen on signing the striker. The Andalucian club has qualified for the preliminary stages of the UEFA Champions League and with the money at their disposal, can lure the player to the Rosaleda.
