The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international says that he wants to play for Olympique de Marseille for at least one more year but admits that there are a few parameters that he does not control
Throughout the winter transfer window, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 striker Loic Remy was linked with a move to English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. However, a move never materialised despite the London club’s efforts.
This season, the former Lyon man has been in great form for Les Phoceens despite the club’s woeful form that has put them far away from a UEFA Champions League place.
Though a victory in Coupe de la Ligue guarantees the Rhone giants of European football next season, it might not be enough for Marseille to convince star players to stay at the Velodrome. Jose Anigo and Vincent Labrune have already started looking for replacements
in order to strengthen the team.
Loic Remy is one of those players who are expected to leave the club this summer. The Frenchman, while talking to the media, gave fans some hope by saying that he wants to stay at the club for next year. The striker however, says that there are many things
that are out of his control so he will see how things shape up.
“I still have three years on my contract. I’m in Marseille, and then next year, I will be here. For me, it would make sense to stay here next year. I have not spoken with anyone. It would be disrespectful to see prospects for next year when I’m already in
a club. My head is here, my recovery will be here too. Then we’ll see what happens, there are many things that come into play. It is too early to start talking, it’s not at all in my head.”
Highly coveted by a host of European clubs, a good Euro 2012 with Laurent Blanc’s France national side could alert few more clubs which means that Loic Remy’s future at the club is far from settled. Furthermore, if major players do leave this summer, Remy
would surely reconsider his stance as he would also want to play top level football next season.
