Loke Kok Pong advances into Boys’ Singles D2 final of Kedah Open 2013 – Badminton news
Malaysia’s young and spirited player, Loke Kok Pong, continued his giant killing run and secured his berth in the final of Boys’ Singles D2 category at Maybank National Circuit Kedah Open 2013, which is in progress in Malaysia.
The in-form Loke Kok, who is the 15th seeded player in Boys’ Singles main draw of the championship, played with smashing speed and precision in the semi-final contest and outplayed his higher ranked team-mate Zairul Nizam Zainuddin in just 24 minutes.
The incredible Loke Kok was in superb form as he played with incredible speed and did not show any respect to his opponent. He easily registered a lopsided victory over Zairul Nizam by winding up the match in straight games with a striking margin of 21-11
and 21-6.
On the other hand, the 7th seeded Zairul Nizam was shocked with the impressive play of his opponent. He got a severe treatment on court and went down easily with a humiliating margin on the score board.
Loke Kok delivered remarkably well from the starting rallies of first set as he played with spectacular speed and took over the control of the game.
The impressive craft and tricky game plan assisted Loke Kok to keeps his rival in all sorts of trouble on court.
Loke Kok progressed with a superb speed in the starting half and remained in lead on score board until the interval.
The underdog Zairul Nizam failed to play positive game after the one-minute break as he lost his focus in the arena.
Loke Kok did not reduce the pace of the game at any stage and remarkable grabbed the first set with a crushing 21-11 score on the board.
Zairul Nizam was once again in problem in the second set as he faced a hostile treatment from his rival who was at his best in the arena.
Loke Kok displayed his incredible skills on court by taking the bird early from all areas and kept his upper hand over his rival.
In the second half of second game, the lofty Loke Kok continued his comfortable run and easily grabbed the set by a comprehensive difference of 21-6.
